In this workshop led by Nate Van Dyke, students will receive a 90 minute lecture on the concepts and techniques used in rock and metal bands like Metallica, MEGADEATH, Green Day, blink-182, Avenged Sevenfold, and more.
Students will learn about:
- Open, Power, and Bar Chords
- Chord progression concepts demonstrated in the playing of Tom Delonge (blink-182) & Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day)
- Drop D tuning featured in Avenged Sevenfold
- Right hand control and timing
- Timing + Rythmn Fundamentals
The last 30 minutes of the workshop will be open for a Q&A.
ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME!
Please leave guitars in the hallway until the Q&A portion of the workshop. Guitars will not be allowed during the lecture portion of the event.
